چکیده
Objective: To compare the patient outcome in severe COVID-19 pneumonia between non-invasive ventilation and invasive mechanical ventilation. Study design: Prospective, observational study Setting Duration: Department of Pulmonology, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur from January 2021 to June 2021. Methodology: We analyzed 660 patients covid pneumonia. Conscious proning was done those requiring ≥ 21 L oxygen saturation < 90%. defined typical ARDS according Berlin criteria. Atypical did not fulfill set divided into 2 types i-e H type. managed with either NIV, or both. used multiple regression analysis predict ICU stay. Results: Out patients, 285 (43.18%) developed biPAP failure were subsequently intubated. observed 273 (41.4%) overall mortality, 175 (64.1%) IMV 98 (35.9%) NIV group (p<0.0001). had statistically significant correlation mortality also predicted (p=< 0.001, OR 3.2, p=0.001). Conclusion: therapy is superior terms stay outcome. Keywords: ARDS, coronavirus, COVID-19, ventilation,

This study investigated the need for mechanical ventilation in children who were admitted for COVID-19. Materials and methods: This article provides a systematic review of studies about children with COVID-19 requiring invasive or non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Electronic databa...
متن کاملMechanical ventilation: invasive versus noninvasive.
Mechanical ventilation is the most widely used supportive technique in intensive care units. Several forms of external support for respiration have long been described to assist the failing ventilatory pump, and access to lower airways through tracheostomy or endotracheal tubes had constituted a major advance in the management of patients with respiratory distress. More recently, however, new "...
متن کاملMechanical ventilation in emergency departments: Non invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation. Where is the answer?
Background The Emergency Department length of stay for patients requiring mechanical ventilation paper in this issue is very illustrative of many variables that still confound the way we treat patients that may not require endotracheal intubation (ETI) but may benefit from non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) [1]. Rose L et al. bring to light several important aspects the chief of which is...
متن کاملBasic invasive mechanical ventilation.
Invasive mechanical ventilation is a lifesaving intervention for patients with respiratory failure. The most commonly used modes of mechanical ventilation are assist-control, synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation, and pressure support ventilation. When employed as a diagnostic tool, the ventilator provides data on the static compliance of the respiratory system and airway resistance. ...
متن کاملModern non-invasive mechanical ventilation turns 25.
The history of non-invasive mechanical ventilation goes back more than 100 years, but it was not until 1987 when what we could call "modern" non-invasive mechanical ventilation was developed. The description of Delaubier and Rideau of a patient with Duchenne's disease who had been effectively ventilated through a nasal mask marked the start of a new era in the history of non-invasive mechanical...
